Description

SPECIFICATION A filter container for an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot The present invention relates to a filter container for an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot.
In conventional automatic temperature regulating tea makers or coffee pots water is added to a container where it is heated. A filter container, in which tea leaves or coffee can be placed is located above a durable glass container.
After boiling, the water flows into the filter container and then flows immediately into the durable glass container. The boiling water does not stay in the filter container for long enough to make tea and coffee and therefore, the special fragrant smell of tea and coffee can not completely be absorbed.
It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved filter container having a siphon device therein in order to at least minimize the disadvantage of using a conventional filter container. Utilisiny the filter container of the invention, the boiling water can remain in the container for 1 to 1.5 minutes, in order to completely absorb the special fragrant smell of tea or coffee, and the water then flows automatically into a glass container.
According to the present invention there is provided a filter container for an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot, wherein said filter container has a sealed bottom and a siphon device provided on a side wall thereof, the water entrance to the siphon device having a layer of filter material therearound.
The present invention will be further illustrated, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 is a schematic view of a conventional tea maker or coffee pot; Fig. 2 is a schematic view of an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot of the present invention; Fig. 3 is a perspective view of an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot of the present invention; Fig. 4 is a fragmentary view of an automatic temperature regulating tea maker or coffee pot of the present invention; and Fig. 5 is a perspective exploded view of an improved filter container of the present invention.
As illustrated in Fig. 1, a conventional automatic temperature regulating tea maker or an automatic temperature regulating coffee pot has a water container 1 0. The water is heated in container 10 and, when boiled, the boiling water flows out from the container 10 in the direction shown by arrows into the filter container 1 2 made of glass through aperture 11. When the boiling water falls into the filter container 12, it immediately passes through the filter and flows into a durable glass container 13. Since the boiling water does not remain in the filter container 12 for a prolonged period, the special fragrant smell of the tea or coffee can not be absorbed. This is the main disadvantage of the conventional tea maker or coffee pot.
It is an object of the present invention to at least minimize the above-mentioned disadvantages and to provide an improved filter container which has a sealed bottom and wherein boiling water can remain in the filter container, made of china, for about 1 to 1.5 minutes by providing a siphon device on the inner side wall of the filter container in order to enable the fragrant smell of tea or coffee to be completely absorbed by the boiling water.
As illustrated in Fig. 2, an improved filter container 22 made of china, is substituted in place of the filter container of the conventional tea maker or coffee pot. The china filter container 22 comprises a body portion 221 and a cover portion 222. The body portion 221 is made of china or pottery material. The bottom of the body portion 221 is sealed and a siphon device 223 is provided on the side wall thereof. A layer of filter material is provided around the water entrance 224 to prevent the water entrance 224 from becoming blocked. When boiling water flows into the filter container 22 and making of tea or coffee commences, the water level rises gradually up to the high water mark 225. When the water level is above the top of siphon device 223, water which has been in contact with the tea or coffee for some time will flow through the top of the siphon device and into water exit 226.Due to the siphon principle, the boiling water in the filter container will flow into the durable glass container 13 at that time. When boiling water is in the china or pottery filter container 22, the time taken for the water level to rise up to the high water mark and for producing the siphon effect is about 1 to 1.5 minutes. Therefore, the automatic temperature regulating tea maker or improved pottery or china filter container for a coffee pot can make a more fragrant tea or coffee smell than conventional tea makers or coffe pots.
The purpose of separating the cover portion 222 and the body portion 221 is to enable the cover portion to be conveniently opened, and to enable coffee or tea to be placed in the body portion. A water entrance 227 is provided at the center of the cover portion 222. The other parts of the apparatus as shown in Fig. 4 are the support base 14 of the tea maker or coffee pot, a heater plate 15, a water exit 16, the upper cover 1 7 of the water container 10, a heater switch 18, an electric cord 19, a heat cover 21 and a heat maintainer 23.
In summary, the automatic temperature regulating tea maker or improved pottery or china container for a coffee pot of this invention can ensure the tea or coffee is mixed with boiling water in the filter container for 1 to 1.5 minutes, in order to increase the special fragrant smell of the tea or coffee.
