Relay or power apparatus; adjusting fore carriages for steering.-An excavator or the like has three independent endless-track units the front two of which are spaced laterally apart while the rear unit is swivelled for steering by power derived from the propelling engine. The rear track-unit 23 comprises a frame 24 pivoted to the main frame and steered by worm gearing 60, 62 operated from an enginedriven shaft 12 through bevel gearing 70, 69, a clutch 71, and bevel reversing gearing 65, 66, 72.
