Abstract

A decorative Christmas tree which can be built up to any required height with an integral wiring system moulded within the trunk and branches to supply power to permanently installed lampholders on the branches controlled in a number of separately switched and fused circuits. Also included is a circuit for a mini-cassette player located in the base support of the tree with a speaker in the apex of the tree for playing seasonal music.

Description

SPECIFICATION Decorative Christmas Tree A decorative Christmas Tree which can be built up branch by branch and section by section to height required with an integral wiring system moulded within the trunk and branches for supplying power to permanently installed lampholders on the branches.

Each section comprises four branches and will have 20 x 1 2-volt lamps in series giving 5 lighting points on each branch (Fig. i). The branch fits into the main trunk by a sleeve with a bayonet cap type of joint (Fig. ii) to complete the circuit.

Each section circuit to be fused and controlled by a switch set in the base stand of the tree.

Each main trunk section will be connected by a sleeve into which will be fitted a multipoint socket (Fig. iii) at the top end and a multipoint plug at the bottom end to carry the power cables the length of the tree as required.

The base of the tree which also includes the first section is of triangular design (Figs. iv s v) and contains a bank of switches to control the light sections and a mini-cassette player to play tapes of seasonal music. The speaker for this cassette player to be situated in the apex of the tree forming part of the crowning decoration.

3. A tree as claimed wherein each main trunk section will be interconnected by a sleeve into which will be fitted a multipoint socket at the top end and a multipoint plug at the bottom end to carry the power cables the length of the tree as required.

4. A tree as claimed, the base of which also includes the first section, and is of triangular design containing a bank of switches to control the light circuits and a mini-cassette player to play tapes of seasonal music. The speaker for this cassette player to be situated in the apex of the tree forming part of the crowning decoration.
