Mops constructed for wringing; cloths stretched over frames.-A device for cleaning floors comprises a stick 1 attached at its lower end to the centre of a cloth 5 which is connected to four rods 9 pivotally arranged in recesses in a sleeve 6. The sleeve abuts at its upper end against a ring 12 on the stick 1 and is provided with a screw-threaded collar 10 adapted to limit the outward movement of the rods 9. One pair of rods is of greater length than the other to allow the stick to be inclined with the ends of the rods in an horizontal plane. The cloth may be secured by sewing or by clamps or clips to shoes pivoted to the rods and stick. Handles 2, 11 are provided to enable the mop to be twisted for wringing purposes. Downward movement of the sleeve 6 mav be prevented by the provision on the bottom of the stick of a ring similar to the ring 12. Both rings may be replaced by a ring on the stick engaging a groove in the interior of the sleeve.
