Abstract

An additive for the fuel of internal combustion engines, including a light base oil having added to is zinc oxide, iron oxide, barium and copper oxide in specified proportions.

Description

SPECIFICATION An additive for the fuel of internal combustion engines This invention relies to the formulation of an additive for the fuel of internal combustion sngines.
According to the present invention therm is provided an additive for the fuel of internal combustion engines, including a light base lubricating oil having added thereto the following constituents in the amounts of one gallon of oil at 18 to 22 centistokes and 40 C. to the specified weights of constituents: Zinc Oxide - 20 to 50 grammes Iron Oxide - 21 to 49 grammes Barium - to 10 grarmmes Copper Oxide - Sto 10 grammes Preferably, the addition of the constituents is as follows: Zinc Oxide - 35 grammes Iron Oxide - 35 grammes Barium - 5 grammes Copper Oxide - grammes Examples of light base lubricating oils which can be used are NURAY 22; STANCO 90 and POLYSPINDLE.
Also OB BLEND can be used.
The formulated additive is added to the internal combustion engine fuel, whether it be petroleum or diesel fuel, in the ration between 1 to 160 up to 1 to 250 and preferably in the order of 1 to 200.
The he addition of the additive has the effect of neutralising the action of sulphur in the operation of the internal combustion engine.
There is also a broad range of beneficial effects to be obtained by the use of the additive.
Not only has the additive use with petroleum and diesel fuel, but it may also be used as an additive in flushing oil, running-in oil, engine oil, penetrating oil, rust prevention oil and oil polish with beneficial effects.
1. An additive for the fuel of internal combustion engines, inciuding a light base lubricating oil having added thereto the following constituents in the amounts of one gallon of oil at 18 to 22 centistokes and 40 C to the specified weights of constituents.
Zinc Oxide - 20 to 50 grammes Iron Oxide - 21 to 49 grammes Barium - 5 to 10 grammes Copper Oxide - to 10 grammes 2. An additive as claimed in Claim 1, in which the approximate weights of constituents are: Zinc Oxide - 35 grammes Iron Oxide - 35 grammes Barium - grammes Copper Oxide - 5 grammes 3. An internal combustion engine fuel, comprising an additive as claimed in either Claim 1 or Claim 2 added to petroleum or diesel fuel in the ration of between 1 to 160 up to 1 to 250.
4. .n internal combustion engine fuel as claimed in Claim 3, in which the ration is approximately 1 to 200.
5. An additive for the ful of intermal combustion engines substantiallV as herein described.
