Hooks.-A tool to replace the usual dockers' hook for handing bales &c. comprises a plate a, preferably elliptical in form and either concave or convex in cross-section, provided with a manipulating rod d and having a number of claw-like pins b, projecting from one face, for engaging the cover of the bale. The pins b may be inserted normal to the plate and bent over or may be straight and inserted at an angle; they may be fixed to the plate or formed integral therewith. The rod d may be bent forwardly and may have a wooden handle c.
