Abstract

209,832. Dixon, R. Oct. 18, 1922. Kennels; hutches; stables. - A house, pen, &c. for animals or birds is fitted with an endless-band conveyer mounted on a series of rollers for removing the droppings of the animals and for like purposes. A band 1 beneath the perches 28 of a poultry house passes over idle rollers 4 and drums 2, 3, one of which is turned by a handle 9 and is mounted on a sliding frame with tensioning screws 31. A resilient scraper 10 and a brush 14 remove material from the band 1 and a brush 15 applies liquid or powdered disinfectant thereto from a container 21. Sawdust &c. is fed from a container 22 on to the band 1 by a stirrer 25 operated from the drum 2. Specification 785/15, [Class 5 (ii), Housing &c. animals], is referred to.
