Abstract

A toy marketry or jig saw comprises a body 1 containing an inertia mechanism 9 having a flywheel which is spun by means of an automatically retracting pull string 8. Rotation of the flywheel is coupled to a toothed wheel 10. A pointed member 6 which passes through a slot 5 of a sole plate 4 is retractable into the body against the action of a spring. When retracted, a surface 12 of the member 6 presses a metal strip 11 so that a free end thereof is pressed against the teeth of the wheel 10 to produce a sound. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Toy portable marquetry saw The subject matter of the present invention relates, as can be deduced from the title, to a portable toy marquetry saw.
The object of the invention is to provide the market and the general public with a toy marquetry saw, which is portable, having a structure designed to simulate the action of sawing by means of a greatly simplified mechanical structure.
In this respect the portable marquetry saw which is proposed characterised in that its body constituted by two shells which may be connected and which form the motor block with a handle incorporated in the upper portion has in its lower portion a slide plate with a slot in its operating face in which there is disposed a pointed element which simulates the saw and projects vertically in a retractable manner from the interior of the body whilst at the rear portion of the body there is provided a crosshead key which is connected to an automatic recovery cable.
As a result of the traction of the said cable an inertia mechanism is actuated whose force output corresponds to a toothed crown, in the vicinity of which there is located an angular iron strip whose free edge is opposed to the teeth of the crown. The retractable pointed element which simulates the saw comprises, within the housing of the mechanism, a projection which during the operation of retraction acts on the iron strip in order to bring it towards the toothed crown of the mechanism thereby producing a sound similar to the characteristic sound of this type of saw. A manual switch is optionally provided in the operating handle which simulates the connection required for operation.
In order to enable interpretation of the concept described above, the attached drawings, given by way of example, illustrate the present description with respect to an embodiment of a portable toy marquetry saw which constitutes the subject matter of the present invention.
Figure 1 is a diagrammatic view in vertical section of a portable toy marquetry saw in accordance with the invention; Figure 2 is a diagrammatic view in perspective of the marquetry saw itself.
With reference to the above Figures it can be seen that the marquetry saw in question has its constitutive body 1 provided with a handle 2 in its upper portion which is optionally provided with a manual switch 3 which simulates the connection for operation. In its lower portion the saw is provided with a slide plate 4 with a slot 5 in its operating face in which there is disposed a pointed element 6 which simulates the saw and projects vertically in a retractable manner from the interior of the body 1.
The rear portion of the body is provided with a key 7 which is connected to an automatic recovery cable 8 which, when traction is applied to it, actuates an inertia mechanism 9.
The force output of the mechanism 9 corresponds to a toothed crown 10 in the vicinity of which there is located an angular iron strip 11 whose free edge is opposed to the teeth of the crown 10. The retractable pointed element 6 which simulates the saw comprises a projection 12 located within the housing 1 which, during the retraction operation, acts on the strip 11 in order to bring it towards the crown 10 in such a way that a sound similar to the characteristic sound of this type of device is produced.
The practical results provided by the embodiment of the marquetry saw described are very advantageous, bearing in mind, on one hand, that it requires a simple method of manufacture providing very reasonable production costs and, on the other hand, that its construction enables complete simulation of the marquetry sawing operation by means of a simple, convenient and easy operation, as a result of which it is evident that the model applied for is of use and advantage and has a new effect with respect to the function for which it is designed.

Portable toy marquetry saw, essentially characterised in that its body constituted by two shells which may be connected and which form the motor block having a handle incorporated horizontally in its upper portion, has in its lower portion a slide plate with a slot in its operating surface in which there is disposed a pointed element which simulates the saw and projects vertically in a retractable manner from the interior of the body, whilst a crosshead key is disposed on the rear portion of the body and is connected to an automatic recovery cable, which, when traction is applied to it, actuates an inertia mechanism whose force output corresponds to a toothed crown in the vicinity of which there is disposed an angular iron strip whose free edge is opposed to the teeth of the crown, and in which the retractable pointed element which simulates the saw comprises, within the housing of the mechanism, a projection which, during the retraction operation, acts on the strip in order to bring it closer to the toothed crown of the mechanism thereby producing a sound similar to the characteristic sound of this type of device, and in which a manual switch is optionally provided in the operation handle, which switch simulates the connection for operation.

    SPECIFICATION Toy portable marquetry saw The subject matter of the present invention relates, as can be deduced from the title, to a portable toy marquetry saw.
    The object of the invention is to provide the market and the general public with a toy marquetry saw, which is portable, having a structure designed to simulate the action of sawing by means of a greatly simplified mechanical structure.
    In this respect the portable marquetry saw which is proposed characterised in that its body constituted by two shells which may be connected and which form the motor block with a handle incorporated in the upper portion has in its lower portion a slide plate with a slot in its operating face in which there is disposed a pointed element which simulates the saw and projects vertically in a retractable manner from the interior of the body whilst at the rear portion of the body there is provided a crosshead key which is connected to an automatic recovery cable.
    As a result of the traction of the said cable an inertia mechanism is actuated whose force output corresponds to a toothed crown, in the vicinity of which there is located an angular iron strip whose free edge is opposed to the teeth of the crown. The retractable pointed element which simulates the saw comprises, within the housing of the mechanism, a projection which during the operation of retraction acts on the iron strip in order to bring it towards the toothed crown of the mechanism thereby producing a sound similar to the characteristic sound of this type of saw. A manual switch is optionally provided in the operating handle which simulates the connection required for operation.
    In order to enable interpretation of the concept described above, the attached drawings, given by way of example, illustrate the present description with respect to an embodiment of a portable toy marquetry saw which constitutes the subject matter of the present invention.
    Figure 1 is a diagrammatic view in vertical section of a portable toy marquetry saw in accordance with the invention; Figure 2 is a diagrammatic view in perspective of the marquetry saw itself.
    With reference to the above Figures it can be seen that the marquetry saw in question has its constitutive body 1 provided with a handle 2 in its upper portion which is optionally provided with a manual switch 3 which simulates the connection for operation. In its lower portion the saw is provided with a slide plate 4 with a slot 5 in its operating face in which there is disposed a pointed element 6 which simulates the saw and projects vertically in a retractable manner from the interior of the body 1.
    The rear portion of the body is provided with a key 7 which is connected to an automatic recovery cable 8 which, when traction is applied to it, actuates an inertia mechanism 9.
    The force output of the mechanism 9 corresponds to a toothed crown 10 in the vicinity of which there is located an angular iron strip 11 whose free edge is opposed to the teeth of the crown 10.
