Abstract

A container for ice-cream on sticks consists of an envelope or film 1, preferably of plastics material which almost completely covers and envelopes the ice-cream and which, on the side from which the ice-cream stick juts, is provided with a closing cover 4 which, in turn, when the ice-cream is taken away from the container, remains attached to the stick, and forms an element which protects the hands of the consumer. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Container for ice-creams on sticks The present invention refers to a container for ice-creams on sticks. It is well that ice-creams on sticks possess a certain number of drawbacks, related both to their preparation and the type of package used.
A first drawback of ice-creams on sticks of traditional type is that their preparation involves the use of machines equipped with appropriate moulds into which the ice-cream, as a semi-liquid mass, is poured and subsequently frozen. Finally, after heating the moulds, the ice-cream is removed and enveloped in a thermo-soldering paper. All these operations require a considerable dispersion of energy because of freezing and de-freezing operations, as the ice-cream mass must be kept liquid for a long time.
A further drawback lies in that the paper package is scarcely protective, both from a merely mechanical standpoint and in respect of thermal insulation, so that the ice-cream may easily be damaged irreparably. Another considerable inconvenience of this type of package arises from the fact that it does not permit one to utilize an ice-cream containing high quality starting materials, as, from the mechanical point of view, these latter do not suitably retain their own characteristics.
The presently known ice-creams possess a further drawback, which is usually verified during their consumption, as almost inevitably, because of their liquefaction, a tedious dripping on the hands of the consumer occurs.
Thus, the present invention seeks to provide a container for ice-creams on sticks which allows one to minimise all of the above mentioned inconveniences and simplify the packaging operations. Furthermore, it makes the consumption of the ice-cream particularly easy for the utilizer.
The container according to the present invention is preferably, but not necessarily, made with a plastics material which must possess such superficial properties that, when it is put into contact with the ice-cream, the ice-cream is easily removed from the container itself.
Accordingly, the container for ice-creams on sticks, according to the present invention, is characterised in that it consists of an envelope or a film, preferably of plastics material, which almost completely covers and envelops the ice-cream and which on the opened side from which the stick of the ice-cream juts, is equipped with a closing cover which in turn, when the ice-cream is taken away from the container, remains attached to the stick.
The characteristics and the advantages offered by the container for ice-creams on sticks according to the pesent invention will become evident from the detailed description of a non limitative embodiment thereof, with particular reference to the attached drawing, wherein: Figure 1 is a side-view, partly in section, showing the package of the ice-cream with the container according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a side-view of the same package turned of 90 with respect to Fig. 1; Figure 3 is a top-view of the same package together with the container according to the present invention, as represented in Fig. 1.
With reference to the attached drawing, the container for ice-creams according to the present invention consists of an envelope or a film 1 which covers the ice-cream almost totally. The ice cream will in turn fill up almost totally the internal space 2, so therefore it is possible to use a low temperature ice-cream mass already having a considerable solidity degree. The envelope 1, preferably made with a plastic material, is responsible for the shape of the ice-cream it contains. Anyhow, it is evident that the herein illustrated embodiment must in no way be considered as limitative.
The envelope 1 posesses an opened flared base 1 a from which stick 3, applied to the ice-cream in the known way, juts. The opened base 1 a of envelope 1 bears a closing cover 4 which is preferably, but not necessarily, made of cardboard. It constitutes both a closing for the package of the ice-cream and, being attached to the stick 3, a protecting element for the hands of the consumer when the icecream is taken away from the envelope 1.
The container according to the present invention is particularly advantageous both from an aesthetical standpoint and because it assures the ice-cream a higher degree of hygiene. Furthermore, it allows one to considerably save freezing energy and to employ high quality starting materials. It is evident that whatsoever shape or package can be obtained with traditional machines can equally be obtained with the envelope according to the present invention.
It is also evident that the variations and/or modifications can be applied to the container for ice-creams on sticks according to the present invention without going beyond the scope of the invention itself.
1. A container for ice-creams on sticks, characterised in that it comprises an envelope or film which covers almost completely the ice-cream and which, on the side from which the stick juts, is equipped with a closing cover, said closing cover being removable from the container together with the ice-cream and being suitable for constituting a protective element for the hands of the consumer.
2. A container for ice-creams on sticks made with an easily tearable plastics material
