Abstract

An electronic digital stopwatch comprises a plurality of switches (SW1 to SW5) (Fig. 3), a switch decoder circuit (15), a ROM (16) (Fig. 2) for memorizing microprograms of operating instructions, a RAM (18) having a plurality of memory locations to memorize time data from a time measurement circuit including counters C11 to C14 & CPU19 for measuring time on the basis of a reference frequency signal, also for memorizing lap times & number of lap measurements. When a first switch is operated, a microprogram instruction corresponding to the first switch is read out, from ROM16, whereby the time measurement circuit 15 caused to start time measurement. When the second switch is operated, a microprogram instruction corresponding to the second switch is read out, whereby the time information at the time of operation of this switch eg lap time is stored in one memory area of the RAM. When the second switch is operated again, the time information at this time is stored in another memory area of the RAM. <IMAGE>
