Abstract

Rotary containers: air and gases, controlling circulation of. - Laundry driers in which the clothes are subjected to drying and aerating currents of hot and cold air respectively within an inclosed perforated tumbler 2, as described in Specification 184,745, are provided with independent chambers 9, 17 for receiving from the tumbler the drying and aerating air respectively. During the drying operation, the valves 6, 8, 10 remain open and cold air drawn into the chamber 9 through the controlled apertures 11 by the fan is forced over the heater 4 and through the ducts 5 into the top of the casing from which it passes through the perforated tumbler and is recirculated by the fan. After the drying operation has been completed, the valves 6, 8, 10 are closed and the valves 15, 19 controlling the inlet and outlet respectively of the aÙrating air are opened. A screen 26 connected to the valve 10 is adapted to be placed over the inlets to the chambers 9, 17. The valves are controlled simultaneously by means of links connected to a hand-lever 21.
