Spring devices.-A spring mounting for a cycle rear wheel of the type in which the spindle is mounted in two members m having guide pins t, s slidable in guides against the action of springs u, comprises two sheet-metal T-shaped members a, b, c, each removably clamped to one of the branches of the rear fork and reinforced by a plate e, f, g, the ends of the cross-arm of the T being bent at right-angles to the plane of the sheet metal to form lugs, which are apertured to receive the guide-pins t, s. The stem a is formed with lateral lugs d bent to surround the fork branch and apertured to receive a clamping bolt y, while a transverse bolt v is clamped in the usual fork slot. The member m is provided with two tapered extensions q, r, one of which is prolonged to form a guide pin s of rectangular section to prevent rotation, and the other of which is drilled and tapped to receive a cylindrical guide pin t. Alternatively, both pins may be cylindrical and slotted at their ends to receive cross-pins in the guides.
