Abstract
206,233. O'Keeffe, M. J., and Dickinson Electrical Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Aug. 1, 1922. Inductances. - In basket inductance coils applicable as variometer and reaction coils in wireless telegraphy or telephony, and of the kind wound on a movable frame of radial pegs, the wire is passed each time over two or more pegs before crossing between pegs from one side or layer of the coil to another, the number of pegs being so chosen that crossings do not take place between adjacent turns, and that there is a displacement around the ceil between corresponding parts of altenate turns. The first turn of a flat coil wound on eleven radial pegs 1 .. 11, Fig. 2, the wire passing two pegs each time before crossing between pegs, is shown in Fig. 2 in full lines, subsequent turns being shown in dotted lines. In modifications, the coil is wound around a cylinder on two or more series of radial pegs. When two series 1 .. 11, 1<1> .. 11<1>, Fig. 3, are used, the coil is wound as aoove on each series in turn, and is then wound across between the two series, passing two pegs of each series before crossing to the other series, the three windings being then re peated.
