Abstract

205,759. Geiser, C. J. Feb. 6, 1923. Amusement apparatus. - An amusement device comprises an animal figure, such as a horse, provided with a steering-device and electric-motor propelling means, the steering and propelling means being operated by reins leading to the mouth of the figure. As shown, the figure is mounted on a truck 1 having wheels 4 driven by a motor 6 through gearing, a supporting-wheel 3, and a supporting-wheel 2, which is connected by a chain e to a vertical shaft c in the supporting-standard 27. The reins 20 are secured to a "bit" 21 on a spindle 21<x> in the horse's mouth, the lower end of the spindle being provided with an arm a to the ends of which are levers b operating the shaft c, thus providing means for steering the truck 1. The reins also serve to put a spring plate 15 into contact with a plunger 13<x>, completing the circuit for the motor 6, to which current is supplied from overhead netting 11 and floor 10 by a standard 17 and trailer 12. A crank 29 driven by a chain 32 from the axle 5 of the wheels 4 is connected to the hind legs of the horse to produce a rocking motion.
