Abstract

A building is assembled from panels which are interconnected by tongue and grooved engagement; each panel defining part of the side wall and part of the roof of the building. The building may constitute a greenhouse and be provided with raisable vent in the roof. The building may be pegged to the ground over a retaining collar engaging flanges on the panel. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Frameless sectional building, with particular application to greenhouses The external skin of the structure is made up of identical panels, which are so formed that the interlocking component along each edge gives lateral rigidity.
The panels form both walls and roof, shaped either to a sloping roof or an overall a sphere, as in an igloo.
Use of a transparent material such as fibreglass or p.v.c. provides a light, easily-portable greenhouse, which can be easily dismantled and stored.
The aperture at the upper juncture of the panels is covered by a raisable hood, allowing ventilation. A door of similar material is fitted to a strengthened opening cut in the lower wall of one panel.
The building is affixed to the ground by pegging through flanges at the base of each panel, and through a retaining collar. A simple ramp over the lower 'step' of the doorway will prevent breakage by wheelbarrows.
1. A roofed structure comprising a plurality of panels, each panel including a wall portion and a roof portion, the sides of both wall and roof portions being formed so as to be capable of interlocking engagement with other like panels whereby a plurality of said panels can be fitted together to form said structure.
2. A structure as claimed in Claim 1 wherein the wall and/or roof portion of each panel is flat.
3. Structure as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the wall and/orroofportion of each panel is curved.
4. A structure as claimed in Claim 3, wherein both roof and wall portions of the panels are curved with a smooth junction between said portions.
5. A structure as claimed in any preceding claim wherein the upper part of each panel is shaped so that when a plurality of panels are fitted together to form the structure an aperture is defined at the top of the structure.
6. A structure as claimed in Claim 4, wherein a hood is provided for covering said aperture.
7. A structure as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein at least a part of one or more of the panels is transparent.
8. A structure as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein a flange is provided at the bottom of each panel by which the assembled structure can be secured to the ground.
9. A structure as claimed in Claim 8, wherein the flange projects outwardly of the structure.
10. A structure as claimed in Claim 8 or Claim 9, wherein pegs are provided for securing the structure to the ground, said pegs being adapted to pass through apertures in the flange, there being further provided securing means for securing the pegs to the flange.
11. A structure as claimed in Claim 10, wherein each peg comprises an outer sleeve and a flexible core movable relative to the sleeve to project from the bottom of the sleeve for securing the peg in the ground.
12. A structure as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein each panel is adapted for interlocking engagement with other tike panels by means of a tongue on one side of the panel and a groove on the opposite side thereof.
13. A structure as claimed in Claim 12, wherein the tongue extends inwardly ofthe panel and the groove is formed in a rib also extending inwardly of the panel.
14. A structure as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein at least one panel is provided with a door.
15. A roofed structure substantially as described herein with reference to the accompanying drawing.
