Abstract

205,289. Tinker, F. Sept. 5, 1922. Distilling and cracing hydrocarbon oils. -In obtaining petrol or other motor spirit in ordinary topping plants or by the e processes described in Specifications 135,015, 188,058, and 195,465, the vapours pass through a fractionating or dephlegmating column a and thence to a condenser c. The reflux from the column a is circulated through a cooler b, pump e, and a washer f through which the uncondensed gases from the condenser c rise, and is returned by a pump g to the column a, in which it serves as cooling agent and in which also petrol absorbed in the washer f is redistilled.
