Description

SPECIFICATION Reversible plough The invention relates to a reversible tractor plough havirig a working width adjustment of the first body, by means of which the position of the plough frame, extending obliquely of the direction of travel, can be modified in accordance with the track width of the tractor in each case, while the integrally formed stabiliser carrying the tail wheel is articulatedly connected on the one hand with the plough head stock and on the other, through a transverse element, with the plough frame.
Such working width adjustments serve on reversible ploughs for adjustment of the working width of the first body, in relation to the rear wheels of the tractor, in accordance with the track width of the tractor. This is necessary in order to achieve a uniform surface of the ploughed ground.
Reversible ploughs with a working width adjustmerit are known (Ger.Pub.Sp. 20 40 583). In these cases the angle of the plough frame in relation to the direction of travel is modified by pivoting about a point approximately in the middle of the plough frame. By the arrangement of the screws thus a different furrow width of the first body can be set, at a predetermined interval.
Such an adjustment of the working width is diisadvantageous because it is possible only in predetermined sections, is very expensive and can be effected only with the use of aids (tools). Since the setting and readjustment of the working width as a rule take place only in the field, this is very disadvantageous. On account of the constructionally expensive solution incorrect settings are not to be excluded. Furthermore the time expenditure for the adjustment of the working width is very high.
The invention is based upon the problem of arranging the working width adjustment of the first body so that it is clearly visible and easily accessible and forming it so that it can be effected steplessly and without additional aids.
In accordance with the invention the problem is solved in that the plough frame is connected with the plough headstock through a joint arranged transversely of the pivot axis and with the stabiliser through a transverse element formed as protruding arm, and in that a shift element pivotably secured by the other end to the plough frame is articulated to the protruding arm.
A reversible plough equipped in this way can advantageously be pivoted over the stabiliser on the one hand and over the pivot axis fitted on the plough head-stock on the other, without being previously lifted out of the furrow. With the aid of the shift element the angle a included by the plough frame, extending obliquely of the direction of travel, and by the transverse piece connecting the plough frame and plough head stock, can be steplessly adapted to the conditions existing in each case. Thus it is possible to adapt the working width of the first body exactly and without additional aids to the track width of the tractor. Irregular furrows can be effectively prevented. The shift element is arranged in a region which is easily accessible at all times.
There is still more favourable accessibility of the shift element if the arm connected with the stabiliser is rigidly secured to the plough frame and a shift element is associated with the stabiliser, which is made variable in length in the region between arm and plough head stock. A similar formation of the stabiliser and easily accessible arrangement of the shift element is fundamentally known from Patent Application P 28 50 118.0, which has not yet been published. However in that case the stabiliser is formed so that it has to transmit only torsion and traction forces, while it takes over no carrying forces of any kind. On the other hand in the arrangement according to the invention the stabiliser additionally carries the plough frame, and the angle a is variable by means of the easily accessible and operable shift element.
It is expedient to form the shift elements as screw shackles, it being possible to prevent excessive opening of the screw shackle by an expedient locking arrangement. Such a screw shackle is robust and can be operated simply without additional aids, and to simplify operation a bore can be provided approximately centrally, into which a bar or the like is introduced as lever arm.
Further details and advantages of the object of the invention appear from the following description of the accompanying drawing in which preferred examples of embodiment are illustrated with the details and individual parts necessary for this purpose, and wherein: Figure 1 shows a plan view of a reversible plough, Figure 2 shows a reversible plough in plan view in a second form of embodiment and Figure 3 shows a lateral elevation.
The reversible plough as illustrated in Figure 1 is designated in general by 1 and represented with its essential individual parts. The plough frame 2 carrying the plough bodies 3 extends, as known, obliquely of the direction of travel of the tractor and carries plough bodies 3 on both sides which engage in the ground according to the direction of travel of the.tractor.
The plough frame 2 is rotatably connected with the plough headstock 4 through a transverse piece 5. For this purpose the plough headstock 4 comprises the swivel 6 on which the transverse piece 5 is rotatably mounted. The end of the transverse piece 5 has a joint 7 which at the same time also includes the angle a, which can be varied by means of the working width adjustment which is to be explained hereinafter. The swivel 6 and joint 7 together form a kind of universal joint which is of great importance for the mobility or rotatability of the plough frame 2 over the stabiliser 8.
This stabiliser 8 is swivel-jointedly connected with the plough frame 2 through the arm 15 articulated to the plough frame 2. The universal joint 13 serves for this purpose, rotatability and pivotability in all directions being provided by the formation of a swivel 14in the arm 15.
The stabiliser 8 carries at its rear end a tail wheel 11 held in the axle mounting 12, which wheel serves firstly as depth control and also as carrier and support wheel in the turning of the plough frame 2 and in transport The stabiliser itself extends laterally of the plough frame 2 and is connected at the forward end with the plough headstock 4 through a universal joint 22. Due to the articulated formation at several points the plough frame 2 can be pivoted directly out of the ground into the other ploughing position. For this purpose the plough headstock 4 additionally pivots aboutthe pivot spindle 21.
The working width adjustment in the case of the semi-mounted half-turn plough 1 as illustrated in Figure 1 is effected with the aid of the shift element 17 which acts upon the arm 15. The arm 15 is connected by means of the spindle 16 with the plough frame 2 just as pivotably as the shift element 17 itself with its two ends 19,20. By rotation of the middle part of the screw shackle serving as shift element 17 the angle a enclosed by the plough frame 2 and the transverse piece 5 is adjusted by corresponding pivoting of the plough frame 2. The middle part of the screw shackle has a bore 23 into which a bar or the like can be inserted in order to facilitate rotation of the screw shackle.
The semi-mounted half-turn tractor plough 1 according to the invention is shown in lateral elevation in Figure 3, where it becomes clear that the shift element 17 is easily accessible.
ln the form of embodiment as shown in Figure 2 the stabiliser 8 is made of variable length, the parts 9, 10 being displaceable one within the other. This displacement one within the other is achieved by means of the shift element 18 which likewise is formed as screw shackle. It is also possible here to replace the screw shackle by a hydraulic cylinder so that the adjustment of the working width can be carried out from the driver's seat of the tractor. Such an embodiment is advantageous for example in work on a slope and the like. The parts 9, 10 of the stabiliser 8 are pushed into one another so as to be stiff in rotation and at the same time are connected and varied in their position in relation to one another by means of the shift element 18.On actuation of the shift element 18 and drawng and pushing of the parts 9, 10 out of or into one another the position of the plough frame 2 is influenced by means of the arm 15' rigidly connected with it in such a way that the angle a varies as desired or as necessary, so that the working width of the leading plough body 3 is adapted as desired to the track width of the tractor (not shown).
The position of the plough frame of a reversible tractor plough having a stabiliser extending throughout is adapted to the track width of the tractor in each case through a shift element steplessly and from an easily accessible position without the need for the plough previously to be lifted out of the furrow, the shift element being so arranged that it acts upon and pivots the plough frame either directly or through the transverse element connecting stabiliser and plough frame, the plough frame being connected with the plough headstockthrough a joint arranged transversely of the swivel.
