Abstract

204,465. Brooks &. Co., Ltd., J. B., and Horden, H. R. Aug. 11, 1922. Petrol and like cans and receptacles, detachably securing to running boards. - A petrol can, coal box or the like having a beaded bottom edge is secured in a frame on the footboard by means of a rotatable eccentricallymounted cam-shaped bar. A rectangular frame 1 is secured to the footboard and the ends or sides are provided with raised inturned flanges 5 by means of which the bead 17 at one end may be held down. A rubber cushion 7 may be provided. At the other end of the frame a cam shaped bar 8 is pivoted on the sides of the frame 1 so that when rotated it engages the end of the cam and bears on the beaded edge. The bar is rotated by an arm 14, the handle 19 of which may contain a spring pressed plunger adapted to engage a recess in the frame and hold the cam in the engaged position.
