Abstract

211,931. Blythe, W. A., Ramsbottom, J. C., and Nowell, H. E. Nov. 27,1922. Petrol cans, detechably securing to running boards.-A petrol can is secured in position on the running board or other part of a motor vehicle by inserting it in a rectangular frame c, Figs. 2 and 3, secured to the support b and gripping the bottom beaded edge by a lever-operated binding device. Three sides of the frame c are undercut, and the remaining side is provided with a binding bar m of oval or eccentric cross section mounted in end bearings k and adapted to be turned by a lever n so as to grip the can. The end of the lever n may be secured by a lock. In a modification the bar m, Fig. 6, when turned into the inoperative position, may be lifted out of open-topped bearings. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 108,930 and 204,372.
