Vacuum apparatus.-A vacuum fuel feed apparatus comprises a receiving chamber A and a delivery chamber B, the chamber A being connected to the fuel supply by a pipe m, to the atmosphere by a narrow port n, and to a source of suction by port h<1> and passage h. The chambers are connected by the usual discharge valve Z and are also connected by a pipe h<6>, passage h<5>, and a passage h<7> having two valve seats controlled by two connected valves H<1>, H<2>, so that when one valve is open the other is closed. When the float J rises and closes the valve H<1>, the chamber B is connected to the source of suction through the passages h, h<5>, h<6> to assist the flow of liquid from the chamber A to the chamber B.
