Abstract

203,673. Winqvist, N. Sept. 8, 1922, [Convention date]. Addition to 126,280. Romany kilns. - In the rotary cement kiln of the parent Specification having a preparatory beating-zone provided with internal projections which present to the material only edges in the direction of rotation, the projections 1 are wedgeshaped with cutting-edges 2 and flat, concave or grooved backs 3 whereby a free space is maintained behind the projections for the escape of gases. The bases 4 of the projections may be widened out to facilitate the holding of the projections between brisks 5 notched to receive them. The projections may be made of iron or fire-brick.
