Description
SPECIFICATION
A Winding Apparatus for the Winding of a Yarn on a Bobbin in Spinning and Twisting
Machines
The invention relates to a winding apparatus for the winding of a yarn on a bobbin in spinning and twisting machines comprising a rotating bobbin, a yarn guide for the feeding of the yarn to the rotating bobbin, a driving apparatus for the to and fro movement of the yarn guide longitudinally of the rotating bobbin and a reversing device for reversing the driving device.
In known constructions of this type the reversing device is built mechanically with reversing cams.
According to the yarn delivery (m/min), yarn thickness (Nm) and yarn tension different step up values (variation per stroke of the upper and/or lower end position of the yarn guide) are required; so that the step up value can be between 3 and 0.01 mm which corresponds to a transmission ratio in a mechanical reversing device of 1:300; these greatly varying step up values therefore can only with difficulty be obtained mechanically.
The invention is based on the problem of designing a winding apparatus of the above operations by dispensing with the complicated mechanical construction of the reversing device and in which the step up values per stroke can be varied within wide limits as for example, 0.01 mm to 3mm.
In order to obtain a solution it is proposed to provide a theoretical value transmitter for a moving in one direction, a theoretical value transmitter for in the opposite direction an actual value transmitter representing the actual position of the thread guide, a comparator for the comparison between the adjusted theoretical values and the actual value and that the comparator is coupled to the reversing device.
A further feature of the invention is to be able to adjust in a simple manner certain winding programmes by connecting the theoretical value transmitters to a programme transmitter which permits of varying the theoretical values.
The programme transmitter may, if it is a question for example, of producing only a conical winding, be designed as a simple adding mechanism which steps up the theoretical value transmitter after one or more reverse steps, by a constant amount.
The larger the programme transmitter the more programmes can be stored so that by a simple switch over operation on the programme transmitter it is possible to select different winding programmes.
The winding apparatus can be built up extensively with known electronic constructional elements.
According to the invention a winding apparatus for the winding of a yarn onto a bobbin in spinning and twisting machines comprises a rotating bobbin, a yarn guide for the supply of the yarn to the rotating bobbin, a driving apparatus for the to and fro movement of the yarn guide longitudinally of the rotating bobbin and a reversing device for the reversing of the driving apparatus, characterised in that a theoretical value transmitter for traversing the yarn towards a stop, a theoretical value transmitter for traversing the yarn in the reverse direction an actual value transmitter representing the actual position of the yarn guide, a comparator for comparing the adjusted theoretical values and the actual value, with the comparator coupled to the reversing device.
The accompanying Figure describes one embodiment of the invention.
A bobbin is designated by the reference 10, the winding on this bobbin by 12.
The example shows a winding bobbin of a ring twisting machine, the ring 1 6 being movable up and down in the direction of the double arrow 14 as part of a ring rail and on this ring 1 6 a traveller 18 is arranged via, which the yarn 20 is fed to the bobbin. The ring 1 6 is connected via a cord drive 22 to a driving apparatus 24. The driving apparatus 24 is composed of a gear box 26 and a reversing gear 28. The reversing gear 28 comprises two control wheels 30 which are driven through a bevel gear 32 form a motor 25 and a reversing wheel 36 which is coupled to one or the other of the control wheels 30 by axial displacement of the shaft 27. The reversing wheel 36 forms the imput of the gear box 26 which has a cord roller 38 cf the cord drive 22.From the gear box 26 furthermore a mechanical connection 39 leads to a number impulse transmitter 40 which is connected through a lead 42 to an electronic counter 44 which acts as actual value transmitter. Two theoretical value transmitters 46 and 48 are provided which each have a hand adjusting key 50.
Between the theoretical value transmitter 46 and 48 and the electronic counter 44 a digital comparator 54 is provided which may be connected selectively to the theoretical value transmitter 46 and the theoretical value transmitter 48 via a switch 56. To the digital comparator 54 is connected an amplifier 58 and through a lead 50 an electro magnet 62, acting as a reversing device. The bistable electromagnet 62 switches one or the other of the control wheels 30 into engagement with the reversing wheel 36 so that the gear box 26 according to the position of the electromagnet, drives the cord drive 22 in the direction of an upward movement or a downward movement ofthe ring 16. The described arrangement operates as follows and the following description of operation introduces also the constructionai elements not yet described.
Upon starting the winding operation the counter 44 is switched to zero. The ring 1 6 is located in its lowermost position, the right control wheel 30 is in engagement with the reversing wheel 36 which corresponds to an upward movement of the ring 16. The theoretical value transmitter 46 is adjusted corresponding to the upper limit of the first upward stroke, the theoretical value transmitter corresponding to the lower limit of the first upward stroke. The reversing counter 64 coupled to the reversing device 62 through a rod 35 is set to zero which corresponds to the adjustment of the theoretical value transmitters 46 and 48. The switch 56 is in the position shown, that, is, it is connected to that theoretical value transmitter 46 which determines the upper limit of the upward strokes. This adjustment is produced in the case of the example through the mechanical connection 66 which connects the electromagnets 62 to the switch 56.
When the motor 25 starts the ring 16 is raised.
Due to the rotation of the gear box 26 there are produced in the counting impulse transmitter 40 counting impulses which go onto the counter 44 and the switch 56 is connected to the theoretical value transmitter 48. The ring 16 is now moved downwards, the counter impulse transmitter 40 again gives number impulses to the counter 44 until the numerical value of the counter 44 corresponds to the theoretical value of the theoretical value transmitter 48 then the comparator 56 gives through the amplifier 58 a further reversing signal to the reversing device 62 so that the right control wheel 30 again comes into engagement with the reversing wheel 36.
The reversing counter 64 has in the meantime been again switched by two switch steps and gives through the lead 70 a further switch signal to the programme transmitter 47 so that new theoretical values are adjusted in the theoretical value transmitters 46 and 48. In this way with the following upward and downward strokes the upper limit and/or the lower limit can be varied, when finally the ring 1 6 strikes against the end switch 72 a signal results which is transmitted through the lead 74 to the reversing device 62 so that the reversing device independently of the signal fed in from the comparator 54 is overridden and adjusted to give downward movement of the ring 1 6 in order to allow a desired underwinding after termination of the actual winding programme.
If in the course of this downward movement the lower end switch 76 is contacted by the ring 1 6 it transmits through the lead 78 a switch off signal to the main disconnecting switch 80. This main disconnecting switch 80 through a lead 82 sets the counter 44 to zero and through the lead 84 switches off the motor but via the lead 86 sets the control counter 64 to zero and the counter 64 through the lead 70 sets the programme transmitter 47 to zero.
Of course it is also possible to dispense with the limit switches 72 and 76 and also to programme, and feed the underwinding and the switch off procedure into the programme transmitter.
The operation up to now has been with the recordal of different adjustment values for the theoretical value transmitters 46 and 48 one after the other and the storage of these different theoretical values one after the other in the
theoretical value transmitter by stepping up the
programme transmitter. This is however only an
operating possibility. Instead of the programme transmitter 47 which is a programme stores with fixed recorded theoretical values a theoretic value
increase transmitter can be employed which after
each stroke switches the theoretical value transmitter by a certain value whereby this value
may be varied so that the theoretical value variation per stroke can be adapted to the yarn
material of different counts. As the switch values
in a new batch cannot be exactly calculated in advance it is desirable after expiry of a new rub by observing the resulting bobbin to determine and adjust the optimum stepping up values per stroke.
The variation of the stepping up values can take place since during the running of the machine variations in the theoretical value increase per stroke can be adjusted on the theoretical value increase transmitter.
The advantages of the apparatus are as follows:- A winding apparatus for the winding of a yarn on a bobbin in a ring spinning and twisting machine.
The winding by means of the electric reversing device can render possible different forms of the winding. The reciprocating movement of the yarn guide in a longitudinal direction of the rotating bobbin can be varied by this electric reversing device. Thus complicated and extensive mechanical reversing devices are to some extent abolished. A desired precise yarn placing is also not attainabie with mechanical devices. With the electric reversing device in addition a variation of the step up values during the running of the machine is possible and further by programming of the transmitter is possible. The end switches otherwise necessary therefor are unnecessary.
