Abstract

202,822. Appleby, E. July 28, 1922. Pulleys of the jockey type comprise a sheet metal disc or web b having a flange a formed integrally with its periphery forming the rim of the pulley. A spindle c is secured centrally in the web b and a light flanged cover h is inserted tightly into the open side of the rim a to prevent accumulation of dirt within the pulley. The web b may be secured by forming on the spindle c a collar d and a portion g of larger diameter than the spindle. The web c and a washer f are threaded over the portion g the remainder of which is then set up to form a collar e firmly holding the parts together. Alternative light securing means is described.
