Renewable calks, treads, and hoof-fitting surfaces; hoof-pads; shoeing-appliances.-The hoofsupporting face p of a removable rubber pad for horseshoes is formed with depressions m, d under the centre and the frog of the hoof respectively. The depressions m, d are separated by a portion o connecting wedge-shaped faces on either side of the depression d. The ground surface of the pad has two symmetrical groups of concentric ribs a on the convex front portion, a depression d<1> separated by a thin crown from the depression d, and depressions b formed with buttons h. Metal plates e fixed to the pad project into a recess in the upper surface of the shce and projections c on the shoe fit into recesses b on the groundsurface of the pad to hold the pad in place. Strengthening plates are inserted in the pad. A three-branched gripping tool is used for inserting the pad.
