Abstract

235,112. Andrews, H. A. Feb. 21, 1925. Renewable treads.-A non-slipping horseshoe comprises a metal foundation plate A having a number of tapered lugs A<1> formed integral therewith, their narrowest portion being at the foundation plate end, these lugs serving the double purpose of receiving the nails by which the shoe is fixed to the hoof, and of holding a non-slip tread B of rubber or other material. The tread B may be further secured by dovetailed holes in the plate and by ribs or flanges a, a<2>, a<3>, Figs. 3, 5, and 6, arranged in various positions. Extension pieces A<3> on the foundation plate forming a divided heel-bar may be covered by the rubber tread.
