Abstract

202,397. Ver Mehr, J. May 17, 1922. Continuous-discharge apparatus with moving containers or receivers; feeding in definite proportions.-A concrete or like mixing-machine comprises an inclined rotary drum to which the materials are fed in measured quantities by bucket elevators, the drum being provided with transverse partions whereby the materials are mixed in a plurality of batches and intermittently discharged, each batch being maintained separate as it passes down from compartment to compartment. The drum w is formed of a number of sections each with a partition z having cutaway parts, the partitions of adjacent sections being staggered and each section being fitted with a mixing blade arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of the drum. The drum is fed by an elevator comprising buckets g arranged in line and carried by endless belts f dipping into compartments in a hopper p<1>, pivoted scrapers t being provided for scraping off the surplus from the buckets so that a definite amount of material is supplied by each bucket. The material is discharged from the drum in mixed batches at each revolution, a splash plate c' being provided. The apparatus is driven from an engine l and is mounted on a wheeled carriage b.
