Abstract

A wiring aid for identifying the destination of the free ends of a number of conductors which are already terminated in a given sequence at their other ends comprises first switch means 36 for connecting each one of said other ends via a different path to one side of a power source, a corresponding number of indicators 30 each connected to the other side of said source, such that when the free ends are randomly connected at terminals 28 to a different one of said indicators and the switch means are moved to a pre-selected position the free end corresponding to said other end is identified by the corresponding indicator, programmable circuit means 48 arranged to activate one of said indicators when said identified free end is disconnected from its terminal 28 to indicate the destination thereof at the termination of the other end of the conductors, and second switch means linked to said first switch means and arranged to activate one of one of said indicators to indicate the switch position when said free end is correctly connected to a termination and to operate an alarm when a free end has been incorrectly terminated. <IMAGE>
