Abstract

A balanced flue water heater to be mounted on a wall, comprises a front chamber 10 housing the gas burner etc., and a rear mounting compartment MC into which is led a fresh-air pipe 39 and from which is led an exhaust pipe 44. To enable these pipes 39, 44 to pass out of the mounting compartments rearwardly or laterally of the heater, the mounting compartment houses a junction box 32 mountable by a flange plate 33 on the rear wall 17 in various angular positions and provided with a rear opening 37 and side opening 38, and the flange plate has an aperture support for the pipe 44. The exhaust pipe is fastened to the flange plate at the aperture thereof and is led out of the junction box via an opening 37 or 38 to which the fresh-air pipe is connected concentrically of the exhaust pipe. By the use of the flange plate and the alternative openings 37, 38, the junction box permits the pipe connection to be made from above, below, either side or from the rear of the mounting compartment. <IMAGE>
