Abstract

The wheel carrier 12 is pivotally connected to a bracket 14 mounted on a frame of the vehicle at a selected one of a number of spaced pivot pin holes so that the carrier can be swung about a longitudinal axis and can be suspended at a selected height relatively to the frame when in the upright loading position to enable the foot 29 for supporting the wheel 16 to be positioned close to the road surface. The carrier has spaced screwthreaded holes for receiving a bolt for securing the spare wheel to the carrier, the bolt also passing through an aligned one of spaced retaining holes in the bracket when the carrier and wheel are swung upwards to the transport position. <IMAGE>
