Abstract

The invention relates to a method of and apparatus for erecting an offshore structure. A substructure 1 is erected on an offshore site on a submerged surface and an integrated deck 12 transported to the offshore site by a vessel 23 and transferred to the substructure by the vessel. The deck and/or the substructure are provided with yieldable means providing both horizontal and vertical shock absorbing action during the engagement of the deck with the substructure and also motion dampening of the deck means during the transfer of the deck to the substructure. <IMAGE>
