Abstract

A stator in or for a Moineau-type screw pump includes an elastomeric sleeve 1 removably mounted in a rigid casing comprising a pair of shells 2 held together by bolts 3. Optionally, rotation of the sleeve is prevented by pins 10 thereon projecting into openings 11 in the shells. The shells may be constituted by a series of rings, Figures 9-13 (not shown). To reduce wear of internal surfaces 6 by the rotor, grooves 12 may be formed in the sleeve. Alternatively, the casing may comprise a sheet metal band instead of the shells, Figures 7 and 8 (not shown). <IMAGE>
