Abstract

New glycol compounds of formula (1). (FORMULA) wherein, R<s1>s is hydrogen, alkyl with 1 to 4 atoms of C or aryl R<s2>s is hydrogen or alkyl with 1 to 4 atoms of C R<s3>s is hydrogen or a group of formula (FORMULA) where Z is an alkyl rest, an aryl rest eventually sustituted or a heterocyclic rest, R<s4>s is a rest of formula (FORMULA) where R<s5>s is hydrogen or a chlorine atom or a methyl group, have a significant lowering action on the blood grade of cholesterol and of triglycerides. The preparation of these new compounds is described either by reduction of the corresponding acids, or by reaction of a phenol of formula (FORMULA) with an alcohol of formula (FORMULA) possibly followed by an esterification.
