Abstract
An air-compressing apparatus comprises a motor-driven compressor (8), such as a screw compressor, which is cooled by a liquid lubricant (31) and associated with a device (30) for separating the lubricant from the compressed air, a device (23) for the recooling of the lubricant and a device in a box (24) for regulating the compression process. A container (1) for the lubricant (31) is a pressure vessel and also serves as a compressed-air receiver. At least a high-pressure housing section (9) of the compressor is accommodated pressure-tightly, yet detachably, in the pressure vessel (1). The devices (14, 23, 24) for the drive of the compressor, for recooling the lubricant and for regulating the compression process are disposed adjacent to the pressure vessel (1) externally thereof. A suction duct (28) may be furnished with a throttling valve (26) controlled by a final-pressure monitor (38). <IMAGE>
