Abstract

A method of and an apparatus for switching on open-end rotor spinning machines during a spinning-in process, is such that after setting the spinning rotor 1 and the fibre separating device 2 in operation, the fibre feeding device and the yarn return into the rotor are simultaneously started by a single push-button switch of a control apparatus whereupon after the spinning-in said switch releases a second signal to restore the normal yarn take-off. Prior to the spinning-in process, the yarn end is reintroduced back into the rotor at a speed different from the take-off one, or to a point in the interior of the take-off tube which is spaced from the rotor at a predetermined distance, said different speed as well as, alternatively, said distance depending upon the yarn count to be spun out. <IMAGE>
