Abstract

A knitting machine having a fixed needle carrier or carriers, for example a knitting machine having two pairs 38; 39 of needle beds and a plurality of circulating carriages 30, comprising a plurality of thread guides 60 each arranged on a carriage 30, a fixed bobbin creel 16, fixed thread guide elements 19, a device such as belts 21; 23 for feeding the threads 24 to the movable thread guides 60, and an endless belt type element 28 which is rotatable in synchronism with the thread guides 60 for passing the thread 24 on to the thread guides 60 without crossing one another. Each movable guide 60 is open on one side and has a coupled thread clamp 61 for grasping a selected thread 24. <IMAGE>
