Abstract

The present invention concerns a method and apparatus for producing a sheet of foamed plastics material or a laminates including a layer of foamed plastics material wherein a resin, an activator and a foaming agent are fed by applicator 56 into a space defined by two adjacent opposing surfaces 18, 30 of conveyor systems 10, 22 and held there until a foamed and cured sheet is produced. Reinforcing materials and/or backing materials from rollers 51 to 55 can be included in the sheets. Preferably the plastics resin is a polyester resin and the foaming agent is a carbonic acid ester anhydride. <IMAGE>
