Abstract

The invention provides a coupling for linking together the components of a framework of struts, several of which meet at any one coupling point. The coupling comprises a U-shaped link member (2), adapted in use to engage a ring member (4) or the like to which other couplings are similarly attachable, a cross member (8) adapted to engage leg portions of the U-shaped link and to bridge the space therebetween, said cross member being provided with a fastening member (10) extending in use in a direction substantially parallel to the leg portions of the link and capable of engagement with a complementary fastening means (28) and a sleeve member (14) adapted to enclose the leg portions of the link (2) and the cross member (8), the construction and arrangement being such that when the fastening member 10 is engaged with the complementary fastening means (28) forming the end portion of an elongate strut member (38) and secured, the sleeve 14 is contacted by the end portion (28) and is forced to slide on the leg portions of the link 2 in a direction towards a bight portion of the U-shaped link (2) and into firm contact with the ring member (4). <IMAGE>
