Abstract

A communication cable is formed by SZ stranding individual strands or twisted or untwisted bundles of strands. The strands move at a constant speed through a front stranding nipple 2, ring 4 and stranding nipple 6 which continuously and periodically reciprocate in the direction of movement of the strands at a constant speed less than that of the strands, and a fixed, continuously rotating stranding head 9. A second stranding head 7 is disposed directly behind nipple 5 and rotates in the same direction as the fixed stranding head 9. The second stranding head 9 reciprocates with nipple 5. <IMAGE>
