Abstract

The chuck includes clamping jaws operable by means of a drivable ring gear (15) which is in mesh with a driving pinion (18) for turning the ring gear, and with further driving pinions (20) for rotating spindles (13) operatively associated with each clamping jaw. The ring gear is turnable by means of a clamping motor (19) a disconnectible coupling (21) being provided in the drive from the motor to the ring gear. <IMAGE>
