Abstract

The assay method relates to the enzymatic determination of estrogens E1 and E2, especially in plasma or urine. Said method is carried out by means of 17 beta -estradiol-dehydrogenase of placental origin, desteriodated and freed from interfering non-estrogeno-dependent transhydrogenases, in the presence of NAD or an analogue of NAD recognized by the enzyme, of NADP or of one of its analogues, of a specific NADP- dehydrogenase enzyme and of a NADP- generating substrate. It may be performed by means of a ready-for-use unit or kit comprising essentially the above components in suitable predetermined proportions, in combination with an internal standard, a blank and buffer media. 17 beta -estradiol dehydrogenase is extracted from human placenta.
