Abstract

201,768. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and Matthew, J. S. Aug. 9, 1922. Tyre attachments to rims. -A split detachable flange which is sprung into a groove in the rim has overlapping ends between which a tool can be inserted so that the rim is not damaged in the process of removal. The space for the tool may be covered by a flap hinged to one end, or by other means so as to exclude moisture. The flange ends are strengthened by parts E, C, Fig. 3, the latter forming a fulcrum for the tool. The joint between the ends may be stepped or diagonally cut as shown in Fig. 8.
