Abstract

A filter-changer, especially for synthetic plastics processing extruders, having filter cassettes mounted on a guide track in the filter housing which are displaceable perpendicularly of the axis of a flow passage by means of a hydraulic working cylinder, is characterised in that an annular pressure chamber (5) is arranged in the filter housing (1) in the direction (3) of composition flow behind the filter cassette (8) situated in the working position and coaxially with the flow passage (2), the pressure chamber (5) being bounded on its side adjacent the cassette 8 by a diaphragm which seals against the cassette when the chamber is pressurised. The pressure in the chamber is released for changing the cassette. <IMAGE>
