Abstract

A synthesiser apparatus for producing cartoon films comprising a graphic display board (1) with a viewing means for producing picture elements in an image frame which are not mathematically definable, a software unit (2) for producing other picture elements in the image which are definable, a computer (3) which synthesises an image frame from the elements supplied by the graphic display board and the software and under control of a keyboard (10), a means for generating picture elements (4) from the image frame parts from the computer, storage menas (5) acting as a buffer and for image frame manipulation, and a modulator (6) in which digital colour coded information is impressed on a signal for subsequent use in a monitor (7) or for feeding to a video recorder (8). <IMAGE>
