Abstract

A modular telemetering system for monitoring methane concentration is arranged for operation in a mine which is endangered by the occurrence of this gas. The system permits the number of measuring channels to be readily altered to suit the current operational needs of the mine. It comprises control circuits 3-3n for a series of multi-channel stylus recorders 2-2n which are connected to an alarm circuit 1 and a system 7 of linear generators. The recorders 2-2n are connected to an automatic control circuit 10, which has its outputs connected to a sensing element interrogation circuit 9 controlling the inputs of a series of electro-optical tranducers 8-8n, and a pulse control circuit 6. The pulse control circuit 6 is connected to a timing circuit 5 and has its output connected to a series of automatic synchronization circuits 4-4n connected to inputs of the control circuits 3-3n of the recorders 2-2n. <IMAGE>
