Abstract
A device for measuring the moisture content of the exhaust gas from a drying process comprises an acoustical transmitter (1) and two receivers (2, 3), so mounted that the exhaust gas will pass between transmitter and receiver. The receivers are at different distances from the transmitter. The invention is based on the phenomenon that the wavelength of the sonic energy emitted by the transmitter changes when the moisture content of the medium changes. The frequency emitted by the transmitter (1) is varied to maintain a given phase relationship between the receivers (2, 3). Gas temperature is monitored by a temperature pick up (19). <IMAGE>
