Abstract

The valve has a valve seat 1 attached to the wall 3 of a closed space, e.g. the crankcase of an I.C. engine, and a closure member 5 urged into contact with the seat. When an overpressure occurs in the closed space, the closure member 5 will lift off the seat against the force of spring 6. A flame protection device 10 is arranged on the upstream side of the valve seat, and a further flame protection device 11 is arranged on the downstream side of the valve seat to prevent burning gas from issuing from the valve. <IMAGE>
