Abstract

A single stage process for sizing and simultaneously dyeing warps made of cellulose fibres or containing cellulose fibres with vat dyes, comprises adding to the hot sizing liquor sodium hydroxide solution and one or several unreduced vat dyes in a finely divided form and adding the reduction agent to the sizing liquor at 80 to 100 DEG C, which has been prepared in the above manner, immediately before padding the warps, uniformously distributed over the whole width of the sizing trough. In a modification of the process the reduction agent in hot solution is added to the sizing liquor immediately after padding the warps.
