Abstract

Actuating mechanism for driving the rapiers of a shuttleless loom includes a segmental gear, means for pivoting that gear in rhythm with movement of the sley and transmission means for coupling the gear to the actuating means of the needles. In one embodiment the gear is driven by a cam via a connecting rod and a crank preferably with an articulated lever joining the crank and rod. Alternatively the connecting rod can be driven directly from the sley.
