Abstract

Diagnostic electro-medical apparatus, such as an electro-cardioscope, has a power supply timer operable to switch the apparatus on for a predetermined period and allows further operating periods to be commenced by resetting the timer at any instant during any operating period. R/C charging circuit 9, 10 may be earthed at any time by transistor 11 switching on in response to start button 3. Flip-flop 4 is set and relay 5 energised and on release of button 3 capacitor 10 starts charging. When the junction between capacitor 10 and resistor 9 reaches a voltage equal to the junction of the two resistors 8, 8' comparator 7 produces an output altering the state of flip-flop 4 and de-energising the relay 5. <IMAGE>
