Abstract
Commercial beads of a dextran matrix to which is bound diethylaminoethyl anion-exchange groups (to make them suitable for use as microcarriers for mass culture of vertebrate anchorage dependent cells such as primary and diploid cells) are pretreated by being soaked in fetal calf serum (FCS) at 75-90 DEG C for about 10 minutes prior to culturing cells on the beads.
